Only those with access to the CBC data platform can submit data using the instructions below. For information on importing eBird data via the online data submission form use these instructions: Importing Data from eBird using the Online Form.
To import data from eBird, do the following:
Navigate to the Species tab on the Count Data screen.
Click Add Submission.
Complete the first screen, including the following:
Circle: Your circle is automatically populated for you.
Sector/Zone/Area - You are highlight encouraged to enter data here to improve data quality if you use sectors in your circle.
Count Type – Use the dropdown to select Field, Feeder, or Nocturnal.
Submitter Name: Name of the individual typing the data into the form. They may or may not be the person who originally collected the data.
Comment – Use to enter any information that may be helpful to you or the regional editor.
4. Click Continue. A dialog box is displayed.
5. Select Share Data Entered into eBird, and do the following:

To get your eBird checklist or trip report URL, view your checklists under My eBird -> Manage My Checklists. Open each CBC checklist or trip report and copy the full URL from your browser.
Step 2: Click Add this Checklist

If you entered a trip report, each checklist associated with that trip report will display independently.
Step 3: Select Mode of Travel

Select the mode of travel for the checklist you added. When using eBird, we require keeping separate checklists for distinct modes of travel. Note: You can edit this field in the CBC Data Platform after importing it.
Step 4: Add Additional Checklists If Needed

If you have more than one checklist to import, you can add another using the steps above. Please select the correct mode of travel for each checklist you add.
6. Once you have added all your eBird checklists or trip reports, click Import.
7. Review the summary screen and click Submit.
NOTE: When you add more than one checklist, you can select a mode of travel for each checklist or use the global mode of travel to select the same mode of travel for all checklists.
